Our warmest thanks for the past year. Port of HaminaKotka Ltd and Kotkan Satamatalot Oy wish you all a peaceful Christmas season and success for the New Year 2020.
This year, Port of HaminaKotka Ltd will donate the funds reserved for Christmas presents to the association that supports the children’s wards of Kymenlaakso Central Hospital. The association that started its operation 25 years ago has raised a total of approx. 1,200,000 euros for the children’s wards of Kymenlaakso Central Hospital.
“We have been raising funds through means such as various types of charity events and auctions. Moreover, we have received donations from different parties, and for example school pupils have given the proceeds of their voluntary work days to the society,” says Mika Arola, Chairperson of the association.
The funds raised by the association have been used for purposes such as the purchase of various hospital equipment like heart ultrasound machines, and for the training of personnel.
“The donation of Port of HaminaKotka Ltd will be used for the visits of a hospital clown. We thank the Port of HaminaKotka for the donation, which makes it possible to bring joy to the small patients,” Mika Arola says.
