The CMA CGM Group has ordered ten new 2,000 TEU container ships and the first ship of this series, CMA CGM Mermaid, arrived on April 19, 2024 for its first visit to the port of HaminaKotka. These ships will be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and are part of CMA CGM's fleet renewal program, which brings the Group one step closer to meeting its objective of Net Zero Carbon by 2050. According to the shipping line, a novel design that enhances the energy efficiency and environmental performance of vessels by up to -20% CO2 emissions. New vessels will progressively be positioned in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
