The first information meeting of Port of HaminaKotka Ltd in 2025 was held on 6 March in office centre Kuorsalo in Hamina. It was also possible to participate in the event remotely, and there were a total of about 60 participants.
Commercial Director Eija Rossi opened the event and gave an overview of the traffic volumes at the Port of HaminaKotka in 2024.
Timo Rosendahl, Director, Traffic Operations, described port traffic in the past winter and encouraged port operators to report observations made of abnormal issues in the port area. More detailed instructions will be provided at a later date. Timo Rosendahl also referred to the proposal to amend the Finnish Act on the Security of Certain Ships and Associated Port Facilities and on Monitoring Maritime Security, and the related personnel security clearances.
Operations Manager Oskari Aarnio reminded the audience of issues such as the safe operation and transfer of machines as well as safe movement in the port in general.
Petra Cranston, Project Manager, Cruise Business, gave a brief presentation of the change in the international cruise market and of the upcoming cruise season at the Port of HaminaKotka.
Technical Director Esa Paronen and Maintenance Manager Saana Vuorinen presented future maintenance investments and highlighted the environmental considerations that have been reported to the port company. These include trees floating in the sea or oil leaked from machinery.
